Believe: Scrap Around the World Mid-month Reveal

It's mid-month reveal time at Scrap Around the World which means I'm up! And this is my layout for the December Mood Board designed by the talented Anna Komenda!

Meet adorable Vienna! Isn't she just the sweetest baby? Her photo was the perfect match for this month's Mood Board at Scrap Around the World http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.ca/
I am accustomed to reds, greens and golds for the holiday season in December so when I saw the blue it threw me for a bit! But only a bit. I decided to go out on a limb and try something different this month more mixed media!
I had the most gorgeous modeling cream I wanted to try and it happened to be blue! I used several masks on this layout and with one of them I used Viva's modeling cream in light blue. I also inked, stamped and misted the page as well. Just love the sheen of that blue!
The big flower in her hair called for a big flower on the page so I brought out my Sizzix and got down to it! Lost count of how many layers I used lol. Simply cut the cardstock petals, misted them, layered them then went over the edges of some of the petals with Liquid Applique then heat set it so it puffed up nicely. The blue flowers are simple roses I made and the rest are of course Prima. I also used a Tim Holtz rubon for more effect.
Dusty Attic chipboard title says it all. Again primed it with Gesso then misted away until I was happy with the color then added Distress Glitter.
Last close-up is of the small flower cluster. I used Authentique's Classique Elegant  papers for this layout. Again you can see a small snowflake rubon from Tim Holtz.

Smile Sketchabilities #128

I wanted to join in the sketch challenge at Sketchabilities this month as I loved the sketch this month!

This is my take on the sketch. Unfortunately it buckled a bit so the cropping is off sorry about that. Shooting outside knee deep in snow is quite challenging!
This is the sketch
This is one of my favourite photos of my daughter Stephanie when she was younger. I love her smile. Loved how she was just sitting on her bed by the window and the photo captured her in a bit of shadow.
I used the Epiphany line from Prima (love this line!!). I mixed some Lindy's mist (Cosmopolitan Pink) with some moulding paste and glass bead medium and masked these circles on. The chippie is from Blue Fern Studios.
All flowers are from Prima as is the tiny birdcage. The birdcage is also from the Epiphany line. Stamping with Bo Bunny of course! I misted the blue flower with Glistening Waves Color Bloom from Prima. It used to be white.
More masking with moulding paste using the Mini North Star mask from TCW and added pink liquid pearls in the center. Sadly this is where the page buckled and no matter what I tried I couldn't fix it.
One last close-up.
As we have now moved into the winter season I can forsee some hilarious moments with me out in the snow trying to get the perfect shot with my bar-b-que as the backdrop! The days are already so much shorter and living where I do we can go weeks without sunshine. I live by a lake so we get a lot of lake effect snow which drops a foot of snow here and there. Ugh. I envy all you ladies that are heading into your summer while I look at a long winter ahead of me!

Well that's it for now! Have a great weekend! All the best! :)
