Happy Holidays-My Creative Scrapbook Sketch Challenge

Hi there and welcome to my blog. Today I decided to try something different. I decided to take part in the sketch challenge over at My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. This is my entry.
I used the papers from the December Limited Edition Kit. The papers are from 49 & Market and Authentique. This is my adorable grandson a few years back (I am still catching up on scrapping that photo shoot).
This is the sketch that I had to work with.
I wanted to have some dimension on the page so I decided to make a star out of chipboard. I colored it and then went over it with a Prima stencil and Prima Paper Paste.
I used the stencil from the kit and some Gel Paste with gold from Fabirka Deocru.
I used some chipboard to add the deer element to my page. I colored the deer and the pine branches with embossing powder from Blue Fern Studios. I also added a flair for some extra fun.

I enjoyed doing this project. Sometimes it's just nice to follow along with a sketch instead of trying to come up with a design. I hope you like the layout.

Hoping everyone had a very Merry and safe Christmas. Wishing you all the very best in the coming New Year and pray that we will all get a reprieve from this virus that has held us hostage.
Take Care!

Christmas Cards with Vintage Christas

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have my last post for Blue Fern Studios. I decided to make a couple of Christmas cards using the Vintage Christmas 1 & 2 papers.
I love working with these papers which sadly are no longer available.
I colored some cheesecloth and put it at the base of my card for some fun texture. I built the card up with various papers and then colored the chipboard frame with Sage, Avocado and Lucky embossing powders. I cut the Merry Christmas from the All Spruced Up chipboard and used Ginger embossing powder to color it. A couple of Prima flowers finish it off.
I used lace on this card for added texture. Again some Prima flowers for added interest.

Just a short post today. I want to thank Blue Fern Studios for giving me the opportunity to work with their wonderful products. I will miss being here but look forward to moving on to new things.

I wish you all the very best!

Joy and Cheer

Welcome back to my blog. I have a layout today done with Prima's gorgeous Christmas papers from the Sugar Cookie Christmas collection. I got these papers in my kit from My Creative Scrapbook. These kits are full of amazing products, papers, blooms, chipboard, ephemera, etc. . .   I made a mistake on this layout but chose to post it anyways. When I prepared my background I didn't apply white gesso behind my snowflake paste like I usually do (gapping due to a horrible case of pneumonia). Consequently you can barely see it on my page :(     I used a variety of papers to back my photo, I love layers! I used the chipboard from the kit (steampunk pieces) and colored the heart with light pink. You can see some of the Snowflake paste to the right.    I used some of the ephemera that came in the kit including this little box full of holly. I also added these cute little pink embellishments from my stash.

I also used some of the printed chipboard that came with the kit. It's the most wonderful time of the year seemed an appropriate embellishment for the page. I used the Prima flowers that came with the kit also from the Sugar Cookie collection.
This cute little tag came with the ephemera pack. I used a little baker's twine to finish it off.

The last photo is of another piece of chipboard from the kit and a little snowman embellishment. I love working with winter/christmas papers and embellishments. Sadly there will be no Christmas this year for us this year. I have never been so bummed out but the harsh reality of Covid is better to stay safe than be sorry. So while I should be visiting my grandkids instead I will be scrapping (or probably moping).

Take care!

All the best! :)

Sparkle

Hello! Hope today's post finds you well. I used the Vintage Christmas papers for this layout.

I wanted to do a more simplistic layout, so I chose to go with three basic colors, green, blue and white.

I did the usual background that I love, some stenciling and coloring with Whale Watch Blue mist. I heat embossed some drywall tape, with embossing powder, cut it into pieces and placed them around my photo. I also embossed some Fern Leaves with Sage, Avocado and Lucky embossing powders and placed them with my flowers from 49 & Market blooms in Sky and Blueberry.

The opposite flower cluster.

I used a few snowflakes from the Sparkle Snowflake pack and heat embossed them with some pearl and tinsel embossing powder.

I used the Ornate Wreath to frame my photo. I spent awhile preparing it. I used Sage, Avocado, Lucky, Taupe, Stormy Skies and Hot Cocoa embossing powders. I then applied some snowflake paste around my leaf to imitate snow.

Another snowflake.

I used the title from the Sparkle Snowflake package and cut it down to just Sparkle. I heat embossed it with Stormy Skies.

And that is the low down on my latest project.

All the best! :)

Love

What's up? Hope this post finds you well and safe in these turbulent times. I have a new layout today using the Remnants collection from Blue Fern Studios.
This is my oldest grand daughter Lilly. This was her school photo from last year and I finally got around to scrapping it!
I primed my paper with clear gesso then did some stamping on the background with embossing ink then heat embossed it with Plum embossing powder. Then I mixed some Seedlings with glitter and matte gel and ran it through a stencil for some dramatic texture. I embossed some drywall tape with Plum, Garnet and Magenta embossing powder and arranged them in the center of my page. From there I layered my papers.
I also did some stamping with black archival ink.
I used the Bouquet Florals chipboard. I embossed the flowers with a combination of garnet and plum embossing powder. I painted the leaves with some green Sparks paint then glued some Seedlings (Meadow) to them for some fun.
I framed my photo with each piece. I then added some small blooms on top. I used some pebbles from Prima that matched my papers.
I used some circle chipboards from the Printed Chipboard page to describe my feelings about Lilly.
I used a piece from the Printed Chipboard as my title. I also tucked a little piece of Lace 1 under my top paper. I also added some Art Stones for extra texture.
My last close-up. For a finish I added some splashes in Prima's Iris Color Bloom Spray and some white gesso.

And that is the end of this project. Please take care out there.
All the best! :)

Tags-with Passages Collection

Welcome back. I have something different today. I decided to make some tags for a change. I often use tags as bookmarks and I have worn them out so it was time to make some new ones!
I used the Passages Collection to make these.
This line comes with an 8 by 8 paper pack as well as journaling cards which make doing smaller projects easier. (And you don't waste paper!). I made the backgrounds on both tags the same. I used old papers from a thesaurus and a music book and tore strips for my base. I also used tissue paper to give it more texture. I then went over it with a stencil and some molding paste then colored it. I popped up the balloon with some cardboard and added some flowers.
I did the exact same with this tag. I added different chipboard centers and some blooms from Blue Fern. The bird image came from the Glory in the Garden line. :)
A few close-ups.
I used Blue Fern and Prima flowers.
I used some Seedlings in Meadow for more texture.
More Blue Fern blooms.

That is it for today. I hope all is going well for you and that you stay safe and healthy during these difficult times. All the best! :)

Beauty

Hello, hello! Just me again with another layout using 49 & Market papers.
This is not my typical layout but I really enjoyed doing it. I used the September  Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club using the Serendipitous Collection from 49 & Market.
I used a variety of pieces of chipboard. I heat embossed them in various colors. I used the swirl  to help extend my layout horizontally and then embellished it with flowers and Seedlings in Lilac from Blue Fern Studios. I also made some stars with my Prima mold and painted them various colors as well.
I cut out my photo, backed it with chipboard and popped it up then embellished all around it. It sort of reminds me of a jungle!
Another close-up of all the embellishments.
The last shot is of my title taken from a Dusty Attic word pack. I embossed it with Lindy's embossing powder. I also did some stamping and stenciling work on my background.

That's it for today I hope you like the layout! take care and stay safe! All the best! :)

Live Your Life

Good Day! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend! I have a layout today done with papers I got from Mother's Day. I've been wanting to work with them but shortly after receiving them I got sick and ended up in hospital. It took me awhile to get back on my feet but here I am and here we go!
This is the absolutely gorgeous Vintage Artistry line called Sky from 49 & Market.
I did a bit of stenciling on my page with a brick stencil and some molding paste. (Of course I primed the page with clear gesso first). I lightly colored the brick with some Walnut Stain distress ink from Tim Holtz to match the browns in the girls boots in the photo. This is one of two flower clusters using 49 & Market Blooms Wildflowers in Sky and Blue Raspberry.
The second flower cluster. I also colored some cheesecloth to tuck behind my clusters for added texture. I also did some stamping using a 49 & Market stamp.
I used the tabs along the bottom of the pages and added them to my design. These are often so pretty they are a shame to waste them. I backed the photo with several different pieces of paper and the newsprint from the cut out sheet. I used a tiny piece of chipboard from Dusty Attic. I primed them with white gesso and then colored it with Weathered Wood from Tim Holtz. A few Art Stones and voila added texture.
I used a die to cut out a doily from white cardstock to help bring out the blues on the page. I also used a few pieces from the push out sheet.
I used another push out piece as my title. Live your life to the best. Simple but it works.
Full length shot of the flower cluster and papers from the left. Added more Art Stones across the page.
My last close-up is off the photo with all it's layers. I love this color palette it's so pretty and delicate. I also love the fact that this lines comes in various colors. It is so easy to work with and l find creating layouts just flows when using 49 & Market papers.

I hope you enjoyed looking and I will be back soon with another layout from 49 & Market. Take care and stay safe! All the best! :)
