Little Moment-My Creative Scrapbook LE Kit October

My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club always has the most amazing Limited Edition kits. I have been a member since 2007 and I have loved every single kit I have received!! October's kit featured the new papers from 49 & Market Botanical Heirloom.
These papers were the perfect match for this photo of my granddaughter Isla when she was just little blowing bubbles on her great grandmother's deck.
I used a stencil and did some masking around the page using Shimmerz Paints DazzelerZ in Dreamsicle. I also did some heat embossing and stamping for added interest on the page. I used the adorable little chippies from Scrapiniec.

I love fussy cutting and had a riot with these papers!! The graphics on these papers are awesome!!
I wanted to simulate the bubbles flowing off the page so I used a Prima mask and some snowflake paste to try and add some sparkle! Again a little chippie from Scrapiniec.
The adorable flair is from Cuts2Luv! I have many more papers to use up and can't wait to dig back into them!! If you are looking for a great kit club I highly recommend My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club!!

That's a wrap for today! I hope to see you soon!
All the best! :)

Gifts made with love-More Than Words Dec Challenge DT

This month at More Than Words we have a very special challenge that focuses on Tradition. It's the time of year when traditions come into play the most during the holidays. We were asked to scrap about a tradition we celebrated  in our homes. Mine is cookies!!
Every year at Christmas time I spend a full week and I mean morning until well morning baking. Often times I would still be baking away at 3am!! I make cookie tins for all my family members and friends. Each tin has a variety of cookies, truffles and fudge in them all homemade! It's a lot of work but well worth the reactions I get when I hand them out!
On our projects we were to include something homemade. I needed a pink poinsettia so I made one using the Tim Holtz poinsettia die. I also wanted to add some texture to the page in the form of snowflakes but I don't own a snowflake stencil so I made one! I simply die cut a bunch of snowflakes out and used the negative paper that was left over as my stencil. As Gabi says easy peasy!
Up close look at my snowflakes.
I used Kaisercrafts Silver Bells papers for this layout. I simply used the sticker sheet to make my title.
Well that's it for now. I have a ton of things to do! I haven't even started my Christmas preparations. First i need to deep clean the house ugh :( Stay tuned for more to come!
Take care and All the best! :)

Honey Bunny

This month at 7 Dots Studios their Nov/Dec challenge is about moments. Although I may take thousands of photos of my grandchildren (literally) there are a handful that stand out in my mind as absolute favorites! This is one such photo. I call this the Marilyn Monroe moment for my granddaughter Lilly when she was just a tot!

This is the challenge board this month at 7 Dots.

Lilly will be ten in January and of all the photos I have taken of this sweetheart this is my favorite. She had just come off the slide in the park and when she saw me with my camera she stopped and smiled. A random moment in time that I will cherish forever. I am so grateful that I have these moments to remember. Children just grow so fast it's a blur, I try to make every moment with them count.
I love the new Cotton Candy line from 7 Dots Studio it's so much fun to play with! The colors are gorgeous and all the matching goodies (stamps, chippies, flairs) are awesome!! I had fun stamping and layering all the papers.
I used the star stencil from Cotton Candy and the stencil from the new Writers Block line. I kind of went a little nuts with masking and stamping! Couldn't help myself lol. This line definitely brings out the child in you.
I treated the chippies with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in teal. The flair was another perfect embellishment. Flowers are from Blue Fern studios and Prima. The octagon mask is also from the Cotton Candy line.
I decided to treat myself to everything in this line and I am so glad I did. I can see myself using it time and again!! Love the funky stamps seen here! Thank-you 7 Dots for coming out with such an awesome line!!
I treasure every moment I have with my grandchildren. This one was just one of those "perfect" ones! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you soon!!
All the best! :)

Beautiful

Another play day with Blue Fern! Using Courtship Lane and a few sheets from other lines I decided to scrap this cute picture of my youngest daughter Jessie! She has a knack for taking awesome selfies. I only wish I could lol! I know I am biased but I think she's simply beautiful inside and out.
I played off the purple in her hair, again something I wish I could pull of!
Both chippies are from Dusty Attic. This one was heat embossed using Blue Fern's Violet embossing powder.
Flowers from Prima, Petaloo and Blue Fern. Lots of glitter and stamping added to the page for interest. I actually cut this chippie in half so I could frame the photo so to speak.  The adorable little flair you see on the page is from Cuts2Luv. I love their flairs and must have bought 70 of them! They are the perfect little touch on any project!
II even used some drywall tape and canvas strip on this. Had a lot of fun going wild with purple and loved that I had all the shades I wanted in papers from Blue Fern. I hope you enjoyed this random play with purple! Working on another project to be posted later this week. I have been battling the worst flu ever!!! Four weeks!! Even included a hospital stint and I am hoping that I am past the worst of it as it has a tendency to come back just when you think you're out of the woods! Fingers crossed! Hope to see you soon!
All the best! :)

Daredevil

This month at More Than Words we have a cool challenge going on. And I of course took in a completely different direction lol!
This is our challenge board. . .
As you can see on the blog there are so many pretty soft and feminine layouts and then there is mine! I choose to dig out some oldie but goodie papers from Basic Grey called Marrakesh. I scrapped about a very Special little boy named Jaxon who happens to be my grandson!
My something new was this awesome flair I just got from Cuts2Luv. And the blue well that speaks for itself with the background.
I have owned these papers for years now and this is the first time I've used them. I love the bright and playful theme of them. They also worked perfectly with my "boy" page. I rolled a few into straws to give the layout some dimension. I also colored my molding paste with Dylusions paint in Orange to make it pop and I think I achieved that effect!
I used some of my favourite chippies from Dusty Attic and went over them with several colors several times until I was happy with the effect. I also used some of the chipboard from the Marrakesh line to add on top of the cogs.
This layout is all about the awesome energy this little boys has and how much he loves life. I even had matching rubons for this line and couldn't help adding one!
The title says it all. Actually I included the flair as my title so it actually says "be wild Daredevil". Jaxon has no fear of anything. He is an energetic outgoing little boy that loves to play and try new things. He's even riding a dirt bike at the age of well almost 3 (with supervision of course!). I love him to pieces.

I would love to see how you interpret this month's board!! Head on over to More Than Words and look at the gorgeous work done by our talented design team. We also have some awesome prizes up for grabs from our wonderful sponsors! I look forward to seeing you there!!
All the best! :)

Treasure

Another lovely sketch to play with this month on Blue Fern Studios blog!
This is the sketch for this month's challenge.
I used the gorgeous Attic Charm papers for this layout. love the soft pinks and beige!
I borrowed these photos of these two cuties playing together. They were a perfect choice for this double photo layout!
I used the gorgeous ironwork design chipboard. I used gesso to prime the piece then added pink, petal and garnet embossing powders to it.  I used the dark garnet to try and pull the color from the daisies into the layout.
I kept my title simple on a busy page.
A little angel resin from Prima. I tinted her wings with gold mist to bring her out of the page a bit more. I also did some random stamping around the page for added dimension.
I used both Prima and Blue Fern blooms for this page. I absolutely love the gold shimmer on the Attic Roses!
It was the worst day for shooting ever today. A blizzard prevented me from going outside and after a long day at work I struggled with trying to get this page snapped. Absolutely nothing wanted to work! Probably because I am down with the flu ugh! :(  But I did learn one thing today! I learned that I am going to build a photo box!! That's it for now! Thanks for dropping by. All the best! :)

There is a new challenge up on the More Than Words blog! Ombre is the word of the month!
This is my interpretation of it. I used various shades of yellow until I hit gold. I used various shades of Shimmerz Spritz Egg Noggin, Glorious Day, Tuscan Sun, Carribean Sunset as well as some yellow embossing powder and wheat ink.
This is the challenge.
I also used various shades of yellow flowers all from Prima. I got to use up some of my really old stock for this layout! I also used some of my new rhinestones that I bought from Marta Lapkowska's Etsy!
Used various stencils to add my background in different shades. Also used Gabrielle's stencil to add some texture to the page.
Last close-up of the Ombre effect. I found this challenge quite challenging! It took me three tries to get it to look good. For the change element of the challenge I used one of my favorite quotes " Use your smile to change the world, don't let the world change your smile."
And of course we have our lovely prizes so don't forget to head over to the blog to check them out!
That's it for me today I am off to work. :(
Have a great weekend! All the best! :)

There was a gorgeous Mood Board this month up on Blue Fern Studio's blog so I just had to give it a whirl!
And this is what I came up with! I am so in love with Blue Fern's Seaside Cottage line I think I could just keep making layouts with it! That and the fact that my favorite spot in the entire world is on a beach by the water. I find absolute tranquility by water and if I had my way I would sell my house and buy a shack by the water!
This was the Mood Board that inspired my layout. The beach at sunset is a magical place! Did I mention I love the beach? And for some close-ups.
I did a bit of stamping on either side of the photo. I of course used Blue Fern Chipboard! This one is called Chained Bits and I cut it up and ran them parallel to the photo to give it more downward flow.
My flower cluster made up of both Blue Fern flowers and flowers I made from the papers. I also stamped a few seashells to break up the color a bit and added some real ones for extra dimension.
I actually cut the title as well to keep the page somewhat balanced. I simply went over the chipboard with some Seven Seas embossing powder also from Blue Fern. Yes I am a Blue Fern junkie! The Chained Bits were embossed using the Oatmeal color.
The last part of my title which says it all "a perfect day"! Any day on the beach is perfect even if it's raining! Oh how I love the beach! Did I say that already? :) That's it for me today hope you enjoyed and I'll see you soon! All the best! :)

Forever

My youngest daughter Jessie often has formal portraits done of her self and my gorgeous grandson Jaxon. This makes me very happy!! A constant supply of professional photos is heaven for me!! So I dug into my new Courtship Lane papers from Blue Fern Studios and whipped up this page.
I was in the mood for some stamping and coloring so I made the flowers for this page with stamps from Heartfelt Creations. Delightful Daisies I think they're called. The heart frame is also from Blue Fern Studios and I added some Recollections embossing powder and heat set it. The background was done with Tim Holtz Concord distress inks and a stencil from TCW.
I took the opportunity to finally use some of the foil rubons from Prima that I've been hoarding! Love how they turned out. A simple bloom finished this element of the layout!
The final photo is of my title. A chippie from Recollections. I used Tim Holtz' Shabby White embossing enamel and heat set for this worn effect. That's it! Simple layout. That's it for me today. I've been busy playing catch up with many things this week and still have much to do but for now it's bed!! Take care! As always all the best! :)
