Together

Enjoyed this month's challenge over at Lindy's Stamp Gang! I absolutely loved the color scheme this month.
This is a photo of my BFF's at the cottage last year.  Ah the best times in life are at the cottage.
This is the color palette for this month's challenge.
Absolutely loved the blues in this collection which you can find Here!
A few close ups. I bought some new stamps from Stampotique after seeing all the gorgeous layouts the design team did. I used the Kasia's bloom on this layout! I stamped the flowers on watercolor paper and then misted them in various colors.
I used a variety of Blue Fern Studio papers for this, Montage, Frolic & Heartland.. The the three little birds from the Frolic collection were a perfect little add on, birds of a feather? I also misted some Art Stones from Prima and added them along the frame also from Blue Fern.
I used a stencil to apply my mists. I spray the color thru the stencil then flip it over and dab the additional color onto various parts of the page. Learned this cool technique from my colleague Di Garling. Also added a few Art Pebbles from Prima. Love how they magnify the colors underneath!
I misted a single rose from Kaisercraft to add a pop of pink from the color line and used a few Tranquil blooms from Blue Fern Studios.
I so enjoy playing along with the Lindy's challenges it lets me be a kid again and go wild with color. You can follow their challenges Here on their blog and go wild shopping like I do Here at their store! Have fun!!

That's it for today. So much to do and so little time. See you soon!
All the best! :)

my fav-My Creative Sketches

Thought I would give the March sketch at My Creative Sketches a try. And this is what I came up with.
I don't usually scrap about things that don't relate to my family but realized what the heck there are other things in my life that I also enjoy. With that being said I am going to come out of the closet and admit to the fact that I am addicted to the TV show The Vampire Diaries! Yes it's true. One of my favorite characters on that show is Kat Graham who plays the witch Bonnie Bennett. I can relate to Bonnie in oh so many ways (no I am not a witch, unless you've been talking to one of my children!). She is loyal to a fault and is always the one that tries to save the day and fix things then usually finds herself in trouble as a result of her efforts. We have that in common.
This is the wonderful sketch we had to work with!
I used the LE kit from My Creative Scrapbook filled with yummy Prima papers from the Love Clippings line and some gorgeous blooms from 49 & Market. I also added additional blooms from Prima.
I did a little masking around part of the page with a Prima stencil and then used some Coral embossing powder from Blue Fern Studios to carry on that shimmery effect you get from the foil on the papers! I also added some metal embellishments from another LE kit. I love these kits they are always packed full of quality products!
Did you know that not only is Kat Graham a talented actress but also a fantastic singer and an awesome humanitarian? She is currently trying to help refugees across Africa! Another thing we have in common, helping those less fortunate than ourselves. She helps the needy I try to make a difference for women and children affected by domestic violence.
My last close-up is of the title which says it all. She is one of my favorite people on this planet! So I have let the proverbial cat out of the bag! I am a VD junkie and proud of it! I enjoyed playing around with a different subject matter for me and I loved the sketch! Hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned. You never know what other secrets I will share with you!
All the best :)

P.S. I Won!!!!

More Than Words April Challenge-Dream

This month at More Than Words we have another exciting challenge for you!! Black, White plus one color inspired by the word Dream! Sounds awesome doesn't it? I actually had trouble with it. So I decided to go way out of my comfort zone and created an Art Journal page.
My title is "Go Where your dreams take you".
This is our awesome board!
I used a stamp from Visible Image as my focal point. My plus 1 color was teal of course!
I used a stencil from Folk Art for the flowers and used both Lindy's spray and a watercolor pencil to give it more definition.
This is my favorite part of the page, the eye! The eye sees everything. It is with our vision that we are able to visualize our dreams.
The teal, black and white mists I used for this project. Have to say I've become somewhat of a Lindy's Stamp Gang junkie!! I now have 73 mists in my collection!
The gorgeous stamp from Visibile Image! I love their stamps! There are a few more I would love to own!! :)
The last two products used to help me make this page. I had a riot even tho I was super nervous about the outcome! I think I might try this experience again for my own amusement!!
Glad you stopped by and I can't wait to see all the gorgeous pieces on the blog this month!! All the best! :)
