four

Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2018 may it be the year that sees your dreams come true! This month at More Than Words we have another great challenge for you. It involves tags and birthdays! This is my interpretation.
My grandson on his fourth birthday awaiting the arrival of his guests. Such a pensive look for such a little guy. I used Maja Design Denim and Friends papers for this layout.
This is our Mood board for the month.
This sweet face is often the focal point of many of my pages. I used a chippie from Blue Fern Studios to frame the photo.
All my blooms are from 49 & Market. I wasn't really happy with my background but I ran out of time so I had to go with it. I did some masking with a 7Dots Studio stencil then misted with Whale Watch Blue from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I did some stamping then tried giving my stars some depth by going around them with a distress ink marker.
A symbol of my love :)
Here you can see two of my tags. The biggest one backs my photo. I hope you join us this month and try your hand at this challenge. We have some awesome prizes for you! That's it for now. I will be back soon with a little fun news!
All the best.

You make me smile

I have been waiting to play with these papers forever it seems. Unfortunately other obligations are cutting into my fun time these days. Happily I squeezed some time in yesterday and today to catch up on some things. This is my first layout playing with the Cottage Life papers from 49 & Market.
My beautiful daughter Jessie and handsome grandson Jaxon. I am totally biased! We were attending an event at my other daughters home out of town. This has to be my favorite picture this year of these two! :) I did some masking on the background with some Gesso then sprinkled glitter all over it.
I used a Prima die for the red doilies in each corner. The chippie is from Dusty Attic. I added a gloss to it as I really wanted it to stand out from the flowers surrounding it. I cut the chippie so that I wouldn't lose that last little bit at the bottom when I tucked it behind the photo.
I love these 3D embellishments from 49 & Market! They just pop!
 Just a teeny flower cluster.
My title is from a 7Dots Studio sticker sheet. It seemed appropriate. And more blooms. I love these flowers!!!!
 More 3D pop ups.
Better shot of the left side.

I fussy cut the two banners from the extra embellishment sheet you get with this paper pack.
 And even more blooms! lol
 My beautiful babies!!
Just tucked the leftover piece from the chipboard here at the bottom.

Final close-up I promise! :)
I want to thank Janene from Scrapbook Diaries for making this fun project possible!! You rock Janene!!

Off to more creating before duty calls again. Have a great weekend!!
All the best! :)

Party of 5

As this year comes close to an end, the holidays fast approaching what better time to celebrate the blessings of having a family. December's challenge board is all about family and numbers and this is my creative take on it.
Our challenge board.
One of my favorite photos ever! My beautiful grandchildren and I. From the left Isla Skye, Jaxon James, me, Lilly Katelyn and Emily Monika. I felt this photo was the perfect fit to celebrating family. There is a saying," We think we know love until we have grandchildren.
I used one of Prima's older lines Garden Fables to do this layout as it was a perfect match! I used matching blooms from the line to embellish this page. I also used their chipboard (just love the colorful houses bright and cheerful! Perfect place for a family to live!)
I used this beautiful chippie from Blue Fern Studios and colored it with a variety of embossing powders, again trying to match the colors of the photo and the papers.
I stenciled my background with the lace stencil from Tim Holtz and some molding paste from Dusty Attic. I love the smoothness of their paste! I misted it lightly with Salt Water Taffy from Lindy's Stamp gang trying not to drown out the photo. I then went over the raised elements of the stencil work with some Shimmery Goodness from TCW. After that I did some stamping and added some pretty pink Prills.
My title was done with American Crafts DIY Thickers which I misted with Sea Mint Green also from Lindy's. I thought the title "Party of 5" was a cute take on the challenge of using numbers. It also reminded me of the old T.V. series Party of Five a show all about family!
I hope you like the project,I know I loved finally scrapping this photo!
We'll see you soon!
All the best! :)

Beauty

Just popping in today quickly with a layout done using the LE Kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club
This kit features the gorgeous Amber & Apricot papers from Blue Fern Studios, gorgeous Prima blooms and two stencils!
I did some fussy cutting as well as some masking on the background. I colored my page with a Gelato!
The Title is American Thickers which also come in the kit! They are an awesome gold foil color.

And this is the kit I used. Love these kits! I've been getting them since 2008 I believe and I've loved everyone of them!
That's it for today. I have the entire family coming home tomorrow for the weekend so busy busy getting things ready for 10 extra people!
See you soon!
All the best! :)

Breeze St.

This month at 7Dots Studio they have an awesome challenge on one of my favorite subjects, sunsets and sunrises. I couldn't resist!
This is a canvas I did to showcase a photo I took while on holidays this past September on the East Coast of Canada, more specifically Prince Edward Island. I couldn't believe the beauty of the sunsets on the ocean. For some reason I found then so vibrant and stunning. Sadly you can't really experience the beauty from such a small photo but trust me it is a vision I will carry in my memories forever!
This is the challenge board from 7Dots Studio. You can find them Here.
And now for some closeups!
A closeup of the photo. The frame is a Prima resin which I primed with white gesso then misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists in Tea Pot Purple and Peggleg Pete.
I used a ton of 49 & Market flowers to embellish this canvas! Also used lavender Prills I got these and the flowers from the wonderful Scrapbook Diaries Store! The seashells are from the coast! I used papers from Thoughts Keeper, All I Ever and Love is in the Air. Ironically all the diamond shapes on the background were cut from these papers but then I realized my design wouldn't work so I had to cover them up :(
I used a Tim Holtz glass bottle with some sand from the beach in P.E.I. I wanted this canvas to carry some of the actual elements of the coast line.
Another flower cluster. I used a Prima stamp for both my title and to stamp randomly on my background.
Another element from the beach. I painted the two large seashells with the gorgeous Art Alchemy paint Dark Velvet from Finnibar.
I used some Dusty Attic chipboard grass clusters to embellish the bottom of the canvas. I misted the outer frame with Dark Chocolate Truffle mist from Lindy's then rubbed on some purple mica powder.
This is an inverted canvas so I did the outer frame with texture paste in clear crackle to get a more weathered look. The dots were made using my glue gun. I really enjoyed doing a canvas again and am glad that I was able to scrap yet another photo from my holidays. I was so enchanted with the sunsets on the coast that I am already planning a trip back next year!! But this time I am going for a month!

All the best! :)

song bird

For my Flower Giveaway please click Here
I am slowly making my way back to scrapping. It has been a challenging year and  I've often felt blocked, my creative mojo vanquished. But I've been sitting in my room slowly looking through things and thought that I might start out with things or people who inspire me. On that note I decided to scrap a photo of my favorite singer Pink! I love this woman and her awesome voice. She sings from the heart and her songs are often related to everyday life, things that we can relate to. I admire her for her social conscience, out spoken manner and wicked sense of humor! She is truly a gifted artist! On that note I give you the layout song bird. . .
I decided to use a paper line I love for its gorgeous color, Zella Teal from Prima Marketing.
I enjoy fussy cutting (it's therapuetic, lets me think quietly) and just had to fussy cut some of the gorgeous blooms from one of the pages. I inked all my elements with Tim Holtz's distress ink in ground expresso. I also used a new stencil from 13@rts for my background.
Lindy's Stamp Gang mists are usually my go to for color and for this I used Jack in the Pulpit Teal, Ces't La Vie Cerise and Dark Chocolate Truffle. I also stamped my background with a music stamp from Prima and a text stamp from Bo Bunny.
This collection has beautiful elements in their chipboard and stickers. The whole line is amazing. I found  perfect stickers to describe Pink- Fearless and the one in black which is hard to read that says" we are dreamers".
The flowers in this line are oh so pretty!!
I used some feathers from Duty Attic and heat embossed them in various colors to match my papers. I also added Prills in teal and silver sequins that come with the chipboard.
I also used some Marth Stewart Glitter and mixed it with Gel Medium going around the edges just lightly to add more glitter and sparkle to the layout.
I used American Craft DIY Thickers and sprayed them with Lindy's Stamp gang  Mist in Raven black. Once dried I added black glitter to them then sprayed them with hairspray to keep it all in place.

That's it for now. It feels nice to be back. I hope you liked it. I'll see you again soon. All the best! :)

Cherished Moments

Flower Giveaway is Here

This Month at More Than Words we have an interesting challenge for you. The creative element is woodgrain and the word is Outdoors. So with that in mind I came up with this
My sweet granddaughter Emily enjoying a romp in the fall leaves. My background is a woodgrain paper which covers the creative element and the photo touches on being outdoors. My grandchildren and I share a love for the outdoors so it's never hard to find a photo of them in any weather!
This is the Mpodboard for November.
Now for some close-ups
Prima doily diecuts helped back my photo. I also used cheesecloth sprayed in Grab a Guy Gold from Lindy's Stamp gang and tucked it in various places around the photo to help pick up the color of those gorgeous yellow leaves. The chippies are from 2Crafty Chipboard.
I used Frank Garcia's gorgeous Amber Moon Collection from Prima that came in the Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. The gorgeous flowers in this line are stunning! Also used a little ephemera heart.
The kit included the chipboard elements and I couldn't help but use them. I used Prills to fill in some of the curves in the chipboard.
More 2Crafty Chipboard heat embossed with Lindy's embossing powder. I did some stamping around the  photo with various Prima stamps. I used the following mist from Lindy's Stamp Gang for the background: Mission Bells Brown, Cowabanga Copper, Tangerine, Greased Lightening Green and Dark Chocolate Truffle. The cheesecloth was done with Grab a Guy Gold.
2Crafty Chipboard  embossed with Midnight Copper embossing powder from Lindy''s. You can also sea the masking work on the background.
My adorable Emmy! It is so very hard when your grandchildren live far away! Every time you see them they have grown by feet! That is why every moment together is Cherished! I also used some Autumn glitter from Blue Fern Studios randomly to make it pop a bit more.

I hope you give this challenge a try! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
All the best! :)
