Be bold

I recently had the great privilege of seeing Pink live in concert in Toronto. To say that I am in awe of her is an understatement. She is beautiful, talented, and a wise soul most of all she is down to earth and real. She gave a fantastic performance belting out her songs in perfect key all the while spinning from the ceiling. She also took the time to touch on the subject of self-image, bullying, social hatred and racism in the world and thanked us as Canadians for setting such a good example for our neighbors.I was humbled by her performance and left the Canada Center that night determined to do better in my own life.
I wanted to do two layouts of her one for my daughter as a thank-you for taking me to the concert and one for myself. One showing the bolder side of Pink and one the soft. So I began with bold. I had the perfect papers for this and they came in the form of my monthly kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. These papers are from Prima's Amelia Rose Collection and they are gorgeous! Pam always puts together the besst kits!
For my background I used a stencil that came with the kit from Hampton Art along with a fabulous stamp set. It is one of those stencils that sticks to the page and I love it no more slipping! I used molding paste and then painted the design with Rose-Gold paint from Finnibair. Of course I primed the whole page with clear gesso first!

My title came from the Ephemera pack that also came with the kit. You can see the Dusty Attic chippies I used. I painted them copper with more Art Alchemy paint. And a few more pieces of Ephemera.
One of two flower clusters on the page. I used blooms from both Prima (3 packs came in the kit) and alot of 49 & Market.
 Another close-up.
I fussy cut a bunch of flower clusters from one of the papers and used them to frame my picture.
A photo from her Beautiful Trauma Tour. The butterfly is also from Prima and came in one of the flower packs.
 Close-up of a flair from Cuts2Luv
Another close-up of another flair. Enjoy putting these on my projects lately.

That's it for this session. I know not everyone likes Pink but even if you don't like her music you have to love her beliefs in being a better human being!
Thanks for visiting see you soon!
All the  best! :)

Pink Ladies April Challenge @ More Than Words

This month at More Than Words we have another one of our fun challenges for you. This month it's about Nature/Animals. This was my interpretation of the challenge.
And this is the challenge board.
When I think of nature I always think of exotic animals. One of my favoritess is actually a bird! The flamingo is a stunning creature. Long legs, long graceful neck, and their coloring makes them truly sublime creatures.
I started by using a stencil and a variety of Lindy's mists to lay down a green background. I then added some drywall tape for extra texture. I used Gabi's 6 by 6 Mini Moving Vines stencil and some molding paste to add some texture that would mimic the trees hanging down in the photo. I used Art Alchemy paints and colored the vines to match my photo. I then did some stamping randomly all around my background.

I used some Blue Fern chipboard to surround my photo to bring in the dark element of the fence seen in the photo. The flower cluster is made up of a lilly from Blue Fern Studios and the rest are from 49 & Market. A little colored cheesecloth adds a extra element of texture for fun.
Kitty corner is another flower cluster to add balance to my page. Here you can see both the background and chipboard in more detail. I also used some of Finn's melanges on this page. I love the magnifying effect they give off!

My title was done with American Craft Thickers colored with Cotton Candy mist from Lindy's Stamp Gang. You can see if you look closely the tiny pink seedlings in the corners of my chipboard. I also added some random dots of pink bling across the page.
My last close-up is of my background showing some heat embossing I did as well as one of the melanges I used. This was a bit of a challenge for me as I do not have much experience in scrapping animals! I am so used to scrapping people. Time to get out of my comfort zone!!

Well that's it for now! Hope to see you soon!
All the best! :)
