Believe in the magic

I am here today with a winter layout done with the December Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbooking Kit Club. This kit featured the beautiful Jolly & Merry Christmas papers designed by Frank Garcia from Prima Marketing.
This is one of my favorite photos of my oldest granddaughter Lilly taken over ten years ago. These papers were the perfect match to finally scrap this photo.
I used two different stencils on the background. One from Prima that came in the kit and the other from Heidi Swapp that came in last months kit. I used some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays in Merci Beacoup Mint and Cotton Candy to add color to the background. I also heat embossed some drywall tape with matching colors for added texture. The smaller circles were done with Snowflake Paste from Finnibar.
I also added some Seedlings from Blue Fern Studios called Tickle on my white flowers and random spots on the page. The white flowers are from 49 & Market and also came in one of my kits.
I used several printed chipboard pieces from the kit as well as the matching diecuts to add layers to my page. The snowflake chippies are from Blue Fern studios and I simply embossed them in white then Tinsel for added sparkle.
Another close-up.
I loved the little boots chippie in the kit it matched my theme of playing outside in the snow perfectly. Also adore that little banner. It is a joy to embellish a page when you have all the matching elements. The gorgeous pink bloom is from the Merry & Jolly Collection as well.
I used one of the sayings from the diecuts as my title for the page.
Last close-up giving you a better view of the snowflake chippies. The green blooms are also from Prima. I hoped you enjoyed today's layout. I plan on spending the rest of the day relaxing and scrapping seeing as it is freezing outside! I hope to see you soon!
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy New Year! May it bring you all that you long for and good luck with those New Year's Resolutions! All the best! :)

Memories

Between all the Christmas preparations and full time baking I was able to pull off a couple of layouts! This layout was done using the absolutely stunning November Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbooking Kit Club!It featured the Georgia Blues Collection from Prima! I loved this kit so much I ordered 2!
My beautiful girls Lilly and Emily posing on the beach. Getting these two in a photo is challenging enough but to have them both smiling is nothing short of a miracle!
I kept this layout really simple. I did a little background work with the Heidi Swapp stencil that was in the kit and some heat embossing.
This kit came with matching chipboard, emphera and flowers so it was easy peasy to embellish!
I used one sheet of paper and cut it up to layer my background behind the photo.
I always like to do a close-up of the photo so you can see it better. There was no great challenge to this page. It was easy to do and because I had so much on my plate this month I went for simple! I will most definitely be doing more layouts with this kit so stay tuned! I hope you enjoyed!
All the best! :)

Home for the holidays

Hello everyone! I am here today to bring you a wintery layout to help inspire you (more like myself) to get into the holiday season!
I was inspired by the uber talented Tartine Peluche when I did this layout. I love how she creates layer upon layer it looks so amazing! And while I will never have her talent I really enjoyed putting this one together. I plan to put it in a shadow box and hang it for the holidays! I used mostly Blue Fern products. The papers are Vintage Christmas and Vintage Christmas 2.
Top left corner we have an adorable reindeer flair from Cuts2luv (they have so many adorable flairs for every occasion). The white flowers are both from Blue Fern collections and the red and green are from 49 & Market.
I used some chipboard on this layout all from Blue Fern. The berries are called berry stems and I backed my photo with the snowflake frame. I heat embossed them with a glitter embossing powder then used Perfect Pearls in red and Stickles in red to give the berries more texture. You can also see a piece of printed chipboard frame peeking out here.

For my background I did some heat embossing with stamps to give the page more glitter as well as used Blue Fern stamps with black archival ink to give it more depth. I then went over it all with a stencil and some snow paste. The snowflake also Blue Fern from the Shabby flakes pack. A gem in the middle was the perfect finishing touch. I also heat embossed drywall tape to match my papers. This was another great trick I learned from Tartine Peluche!
Another close-up different vantage point. You can also see another piece of printed chipboard beside my photo. These pieces make great embellishments!
My title. Here you can also see that I used seedlings in Flaming Red as well as some Art Stones from Prima Marketing.
 More blooms
Last close-up the flower cluster on the bottom right. Again a mix of flowers and another adorable flair from Cuts2luv. I added the lacey teal bloom from Petaloo to bring more color to the cluster as well as a berry from my stash. I'll be honest I am not a fan of winter but I so enjoyed doing this wintery layout.

That's it for now. Hope to see you soon!
All the best! :)

Christmas Day

I've never been one to scrap Christmas photos. It's not that I don't want to it's just that I get overwhelmed with all the gorgeous options to choose from. I usually pull everything out then end up putting it back because I can't decide. Well it's long past time to get over my indecisiveness!! So here is my first Christmas project of this season (might be the only one lol).
My gorgeous daughter Jessie and grandson Jaxon. Although the photo is a few years old I absolutely love it and knew this was one of the first I needed to scrap! For this project I used Blue Fern's  Vintage Christmas 1 & 2. It breaks my heart that Leslie had to sell Blue Fern. I have been a fan of theirs since they first came out. I hope and pray that this brings her the well deserved reprieve she so deserves! Good luck Leslie and Kev! You are in my heart always!
I wanted this photo to look like an ornament so I used this frame also Blue Fern. I cut it in half to maximize it's use. I heat embossed it with Ginger embossing Powder from Blue Fern. It is definitely a Blue Fern project.
The bottom half of the frame along with some blooms from 49 & Market.
Sadly this doesn't glitter at all but in real life it is full of sparkle. I heat embossed some drywall tape as well as did some stenciling and stamping around the photo.
I dry brushed some gesso on my blooms and other embellishments to imitate a snowy look.
Another little flower cluster.
I used some Perfect Pearls to add some glitter to this fussy cut tree.
My babies :)

I am working on another seasonal layout as I impatiently wait for my kit from My Creative Scrapbook to arrive. Thanks Canada Post for being such exemplary dickheads right before the Christmas season. Grr better not start.

See you soon!
All the best! :)

Live in the Moment

Back again with another layout for you! I just got some photos from my daughter of my two eldest grandchildren and I had to scrap them! A few days ago I scrapped a photo of Lilly my oldest grandchild as a wee baby. Here she is now at 11 yrs old with her sister Emily.
Once again I turned to my trusty kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. This time I used the August Limited Edition Kit featuring 49 and Market papers and flowers. I am working backwards thru my kits lol. I was in a bit of a slump creatively and everything else in my life was chaotic as well. My lung was collapsing, issues with kids etc. . . I didn't have it in me to do a page. I am so glad to be back on track! I hope!!
I used the bottom of the paper (that you usually cut off and throw away) as my title. Live in the moment seemed appropriate for this photo of these two gems goofing about on the beach.
I used diecut pieces from 49 & Market Sweet Reflections laser cuts. These are awesome pre-cut pieces that match the papers perfectly. The blooms are from Prima and 49 & Market.

I used a Heidi Swapp stencil on my background (this also came in the kit) and then went over the pattern with Shimmery Goodness from TCW. Unfortunately you can't see the shine from this angle but it does look amazing up close.I also used a 3-D embellishment from 49 & Market  with the birdcage. Also some of the flowers came from the Wings & Things layered die-cut embellishments.
I fussy cut some flowers to mat around my photo. Aren't they gorgeous?!
Another close-up of the background work. I also used Perfect Pearls in Lilac to add some dimension to my page. And a little stamping of course!
Flower cluster and  Prills from the Scrapbook Diaries. I absolutely love the worn shabby look of these papers and found this page so easy to put together! It makes such a difference when you have co-ordinating elements to work with!!

Well that's another day done! I have to decide what to work on next. Hopefully I will see you soon! Thanks for dropping by.
All the best! :)

Sweet Smiles

Just a quick little post today to share another layout, This is a very old photo of my oldest granddaughter Lilly (who is now 11!) As my first grandchild she holds a very special place in my heart. She brought light back into my life in a very dark time and I will always be grateful for that gift. This is one of my all time favourite photos.
I used the September Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club featuring Prima's Misty Rose collection.
 Just a few close-ups.
The chipboard frame is from Dusty Attic. The blooms are also from Prima.
A few butterflies for effect.
A close-up of my favorite photo.

That's it for today. Thanks for dropping by!
All the best! :)

cheeky

Hello hello I am back today with another layout for you! I always struggle doing boy layouts. I have been scrapping my granddaughters for years so this is relatively new. How do you embellish a boy page? Ugh. Well this is what I came up with! Meet my sweetie pie Hudson. The youngest of my grandchildren. This pic was taken on his 1st Birthday.

To scrap this photo I turned to my absolutely fabulous kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. This is the October Limited Edition Kit.
Isn't it gorgeous? Pam puts together the most amazing kits including papers, blooms (usually 3 packs!), stickers, chipboard, stamp and often stencils!! I mean what more do you need?
These papers matched my photo perfectly. So for some close-ups
I actually stamped and colored a few flowers initially to use alone on the page. But in the end I decided to use both mine and those that came with the kit. I also added some cog chipboard pieces (it' a boy thing right?). The blooms and papers are from the Flirty Fleur Collection. Love teal and black together!!
My title. A simple chipboard title from Dusty Attic heat embossed in black. You can see I did a bit of stamping with the stamp that came with the kit!
Another view of my flowers. I love the emphera packs that come with the kits. That little "CUTE" tag was perfect for the corner of the photo. Emphera is also perfect for adding layers to your photo cluster.
I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops to add some dimension around my photo. You can also see a bit of my background. I whited out the area I wanted to work in with Gesso then added some dimension with the stencil that came in the kit and some colored molding paste. I then stamped all the around the area with the stamp that came in the kit. I am building up quite a collection of stamps and stencils with my kit membership!

Well that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed and I'll see you soon!
All the best! :)

Featured in a Magazine!!! Pumpkin Love

I know it has been forever since I've been here. Took a month long trip down East and upon my return everything else fell apart, almost as if I were being punished for taking me time. I won't bore you with the details. Just know that I am back and hoping to rebuild myself and my scrappy hobby! With that being said, I GOT PUBLISHED!!!!! Yes it's true when I got back I received some awesome happy mail from My Creative Scrapbook Magazine. This is the layout that was featured::
I absolutely love Frank Garcia's Amber Moon papers. I received these last year in a kit from My Creative Scrapbook Kit Club. I quickly bought more! I've had this photo for years and was waiting for the right papers to scrap it. Amber Moon was the perfect line.

This is the layout as it looks in the magazine. I was so thrilled to see my name in print! Is that goofy?
And this is the issue it is published in. Now for a few close-ups.
I absolutely love how everything in this line is so well co-ordinated. I think it has to be my all time favourite fall collection! Thank-you Prima! Thank-you Frank!! These adorable chipboard pieces are from the line.
My background was my usual primered paper with a stencil molding paste and mists. I also heat embossed some leaves across the page. The colors are all from Lindy's Stamp Gang. The chipboard pumpkins are from Blue Fern Studios. (Did you hear Blue Fern is being sold?!!) The gorgeous bloom as are also from the line. I really had fun doing this one.

Well that' it for today! I will definitely be back as I actually have more layouts done! It's true! Have a great weekend! See you soon!
