A Ladies Diary-Dusty Attic Sketch Challenge

This is the July sketch over at Dusty Attic.
This is my interpretation of it.
This is a picture of my godmother taken in 1957 with her younger sister. I scrapped the actual photo as I know it will only sit in a box until someone digs it up and then they won't even know who it is. It is really important to me that these memories are kept and passed on down the line. My Godparents ran a bakery on Yonge St. in Toronto called Ingemar's and visiting them was always such a treat. I used the Scraps of Elegance Kit with the Graphic 45 Ladies Diary line. I love this paper!

You can see one of the four tile embellishments I made with Sculpy clay and some stickers from the kit and some homemade flowers mixed up with Prima.

Another shot of the tiles mixed in with the flower embellies! I have a tendancy to cluster my flowers!

I used the Dusty Attic Vintage Wire Table, the vintage telephone and I used a scrap piece of the chipboard to make a vase. I cut a vase with my Silhouette and then used the vase stencil to cut a vase out of the extra chipboard. Didn't want to waste a thing! :) That's it for this post hope you have a great week and TFL!

My Lillies-MCS LE Kit

I took this picture of my gd Lilly by my pond posing with the flowers she was named after. I had the honor of picking her name :) The Girl Land papers from Websters in the MCS LE Kit were a perfect match for the variety of colors! I put alot of time into this layout trying different things like stamping and masking.
I used a Prima masked and painted the gate with antique white paint then added Pink Paislee sparkles to the paint before it dried. It is hard to see the sparkle especially given the bright light I took these shots in.
I really wanted to put the personal touch to the page so I made most of the flowers myself and added a Websters bloom. Again I added sparkles to the flowers (hard to see).
I used a Websters Cameo backed by the Cameo Ribbon Slider from Dusty Attic leaving it plain ( it worked  perfectly). The leaves are also a new product from DA as well! Of course the bling is also Websters Girl Land!
I used a stamp from my stash of a Calla Lilly (my favourite) and stamed several blooms onto the Websters paper. I then did alot of fussy cutting and detailing with a black marker to make a flower border for the one side of the layout!
The last little touch was adding a ticket (not Girl Land line) and some whimsies to finish off the page. It is my goal to add more mixed media to my layouts for fun and contrast and am always looking for new ideas. Well I'm off to enjoy the rest of this gorgeous very hot Sunday! and TFL!

Scrap That Sketch Challenge-All You Need Is Love

This is the sketch done by Amarilys Doria over at the Scrap That Blog. This is my interpretation of the sketch using the Main Kit.
Another wedding pic of my brother and mother-in law with my hubby. Our wedding photos were taken in a very luscious garden at Inn at the Falls in Bracebridge and some of the pics came out with such vivd colours it was hard to match them up with paper! Fortunately this paper from Fab scraps worked perfectly for this pic. It's too bad that I really suck at taking pics of my layouts! (Any hints are more than welcome!!!)
Just a few close-up shots to show some of the detail which is hard to see in the layout pic.I used the Dusty Attic circle Frame to surround the pic and the Cameo Ribbon Slide for the Webster's Cameo I used in the top left Corner from the Girl Land Collection. The tag in the corner was also made with the diamonds stamp from Girl land!
For some reason my blog is giving me grief tonight in posting pics so that's it for now! Have a terrific weekend and stay out of this heat!

MCS CREATIVE SKETCHES-LOVE

This is June's sketch over at My Creative Sketches:
This is my take on the sketch. Another wedding picture of hubby and I! I will get my wedding ablbum done yet!

I used the June LE Kit from MCS Pink Paisley's London Market.

I used some vine from Prima and some grass from DA. Painted the DA with Gesso then inked using tattered rose, teal blue and branch bark. Once I had all the vines in place I lightly went over it with white ink for a frosted look.

Instead of using scalloped paper I put lace under my picture for a more soft look.
This is hard to see but I used a Prima template and a white gel pen and added a little more white to my pink circle and of course Prima bling to finish it off! TFL and have a terrific day!
