Lil Angels-Scraps of Elegance

My darling grandaughters. Emily (far left) is 3, Isla (middle) 1 and Lilly (lillybean) 6 . This was taken on Lilly's 6th Birthday. Unfortunately the girls don't get to see each other near enough so when they do get together they make up for lost time! I so love to just sit and watch them play. I used the Scraps of Elegance Kit Lovesong Kit.
I loved this saying, Kaisercraft rub-on, although at times I know for a fact that none of these three are perfect angels!
The big pink flower is from Bo Bunny's Zinnia line (love these!) and the two mixed red flowers I made using paper from the kit and some red bling. The zipper is of course frim Prima's Junkyard Findings line. The little red ones are from Petaloo.
I hand stiched around the circle to help hold the paper down better. The letters are from Dusty Attic Bookman ABC set (DA0666)
I painted the letters first with Pink Lemonade but realized there were too pale so I painted them again with Lisa Pink and then they were too dark! So I used the Smooch ( Shabby Pink) that came in the kit and when over them completely which added a shimmer to them plus gave me the color I wanted!

Well it's Friday which means the hubby will be out all weekend sledding with his brother and I have the house completely to myself which also means I can crank my stereo! Although I might go out with them just once to see if I can capture a great deer shot. They are always telling about the beautiful things they see in the bush but I hate the cold. This might be worth the effort I guess we'll see! Have an awesome weekend and I am off to scrap my brains out! (Have a few albums need doing for upcoming weddings). Have a great one and be well!

Smiles are contagious-My Creative Scrapbook LE

This is a photo of my daughter Rebecca playing smoochies with her niece Emily at Christmas time. They adore one another can you tell? I used the Limited Edition kit from MCS with the Lucille line from Baisc Grey.
Enjoyed adding alot of Dusty Attic to this layout. This is the dress form painted with Pink Lemonade paint. I used some  Websters' netting for the skirt and a ribbon form the kit for a sash. A few Prima flowers finished it off.
Alot of the time I like to incorporate the title onto the chipboard although in this case I realized to late that I should have probably used it to fill in the spaces at the top and bottom of the page. I'm not used to empty (negative space)!
More Dusty Attic Painted with the same Pink Lemonade and then I used distress ink from Tim Holtz in Mahgony to bring out the edges. Prima and Petaloo flowers in the mix.
The birdcage and bird are more Dusty Atttic painted and inked. I used a left over piece of ribbon from a Christmas kit to hang the cage on the page. I wasn't sure I would like these papers when I first saw them but when I had them in my hand that all changed! Well that's it for today I think! Have a great afternoon and thanks for coming by! Be well!

Remember Today- My Creative Scrapbook

I did this layout using the January Main Kit from MCS. I took this photo at Christmas. It was Christmas Eve and we celebrted with a quite dinner in remembrance of my mom their grandma. Megs in the middle is still confined to a wheelchair after suffering a bad fall and we are praying that one day she will walk again!
I love this bird! I used a tip from Jolaine from the design team and added glitter around the bird.
Just a little stamping and I used some liquid pearls.

Sorry just realized that this pic is blurred :( I just added a few drops of the liquid pearls to make the banner stand out more.
That's it for this post. I am feeling wretched from this bug I have (can't you tell by the short posts?) So have a great day and be safe. We are in the middle of yet another blizzard hope things are better where you are! TFL! :)

My Sweetheart-Scrap That Sketch Contest

This is the sketch for this month's challenge at the ScrapThat Kit Club and this is my interpretation of the sketch called My Sweetheart.
This is my grandaughter Lilly taken on her 6th Birthday. It amazes me how quickly time flies. At six she already has her own fashion style, quick wit and is excelling at school. She apparently has an affinity for Math and has an amazing creative style in her artwork! Wonder where she gets that from? :)
All the flowers and leaves are from Prima and the little love lightbulb is from the Ingvild Bolme line Junkyard Findings.
The beautiful butterfly is from Renea Bouquets.
More flowers from Prima mixed in with some plastic flowers I had in my stash forever.
I used American Thickers Natural Chipboard and painted it with white paint and then sprayed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist in Blackberry.
The heart below the picture is my first attempt at the eggshell embellishment tutorial I saw on Gabrielle Pollaco's blog  http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.ca/search?updated-max=2012-09-15T14:09:00-04:00&max-results=10&start=35&by-date=false Mine didn't turn out anywhere near as pretty but it was my first attempt and instead of throwing it out I used it. It's all part of the process of scrapping, LEARNING!
Well that's it for me today. I have alot of catching up to do and am battling a nasty virus I picked up from my girls at the Birthday Party go figure. Be well and take care!
