Jax in the box

I've been wanting to scrap this photo for awhile. I knew what paper I wanted to use and how I wanted to do it but for some reason it just kept getting put off. Well today I allowed my inner child out to play and get dirty and this is what I came up with. Jax in the box! My little grandson Jaxon (who has a penchant for sitting in boxes and tubs) fooling around and sitting in mommy's Harley box.
I saw a video tutorial done by Georgia Heald and fell in love with her technique so I gave it a try. The gorgeous papers are from Prima's Stationer's Desk Collection.
I borrowed the woodchip saying dream from another Prima collection Epiphany. The title is made with Prima's Alpha stickers (Lyric Collection). The flowers and leaves are also from the Stationer's Desk Collection. I got all these lovely products in a kit from Swirlydoos Kit Club!
 A few closeups!
I really enjoyed playing around with the paints to find the right color. I am now addicted to the splatter pattern lol!
I really enjoyed doing this project and plan on doing more this way! A big thanks to Georgia Heald for her great video tutorial showing her great techniques! Off to do some Design Team work now as well as prepare for a certain little man's 1st Birthday party!I have a banner to make! Have a great week! All the best! :)

Capture the Moment

I decided to give the sketch over at Bo Bunny a try this month. I've had these papers for awhile now and have been eager to dig in. From the Madeline Collection I give you Capture the Moment
This is the sketch I had to work with:

My gorgeous girls Lilly & Emily. Growing so fast! I started scrapping when Lilly was born and now she's such a little lady! Emmy is five and fast following in her sister's footsteps.   Love the pinks and oranges in this line and wanted to pick them up a bit in my resin frame. I misted and misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang in Salt Water Taffy, Cosmopolitan Pink and Prima's Cotton Candy. There is also a slight trace (which you can't really see here) of teal mica powder that I added lightly to bring in the green of the papers.
Masking didn't go so well but it was too late to do anything. Mixed pink in with my moulding paste. I think this will be a new addiction for me! Colored moulding paste.
I stamped two 3-D images on the page. First I stamped on the page. Then I misted some cardstock stamped it with same colors as the frame and cut it out. I used pop dots to raise it up.
The dragonfly is the second 3-D image. I only added a few flowers to the page as it was already feeling crowded. A little stamping with a music stamp from my stash and a brad from the Madeline Collection.
My title came from a kit I have. I simply primed it with Gesso and misted it with Lind's Stamp Gang in Peony.
Last photo shows my journaling, some more masking and the stitching I did around the page. All stitching was done by hand. I used a gold floss together with a pink one to add more glitter to the page. It's to bad you can't see it here. My journaling says:
A sister is a gift to the heart
A friend to the spirit
A golden thread to the meaning of life.
Lilly & Emily.

On a final note I had to share this new with you. For years now I have tried diligently to win a Petaloo blog hop prize. They have the most amazing prize packages that come with their gorgeous flowers and a matching paper. Well I WON!!!!!!
I won this gorgeous prize pack of Petaloo flowers & Authentique papers! I have to say diligence and patience do pay off! Just wanted to share:)
Have a great day! All the best! :)

Scrap Around the World-Symphony of Music

It's that time of month again for the second reveal at Scrap Around the World. And this is my take on the gorgeous Mood Board designed by the talented Zuzia Bodakowska.
 November Mood Board
This was my first go at doing a canvas so I was somewhat reserved. I wanted to do more with stamping & misting but didn't want to ruin it before the reveal lol! Next time will be different. I really wanted to pic up on the colors in this Board. They matched a photo I have of a place here in Muskoka that is just stunning in the fall!
Just a couple of close-ups for this post both of them are of my flower clusters. You can see the various masking I did with different stencils. I also did a lot of misting, going back adding Gesso, misting again but I finally came close to what I wanted.
Lots of Prima on this canvas!
I covered some of the flowers up but left a few the way they were. It didn't make sense to me to cover them with gesso only to try and spray back the color they were. The music paper is from Maya Designs. Chippie from Dusty Attic!
And that''s it! :)

Today we are presenting challenge number 19. Can you believe this?
Zuzia prepared a mysterious moodboard with a vintage, country touch.
There are so many ways you can get inspired - the music note paper,
rough twine, flowers, rich colours, bicycles, sunflare, lace & doilies,
woodgrain & script fonts.  The choice is up to you
. We hope to see many glamorous works this month!

"Hello!  My name is Zuzia Bodakowska, although online I go by Zuziucha.
I am a happy mom to 2 girls - 8 year old Julia & 2 year old Lili & they are the
reason for my scrapbooking adventure!   I create mainly layouts & mini-albums.

My albums are usually very neat but my layouts are quite messy with a bit
of mixed media & lots of flowers & embellishments, making them very feminine.
I love travelling & visiting new places but I also love my home & spending time
there.I dream of a big garden where I can grown all my own fruit & vegetables
as I am crazy about healthy eating!  If you wish to see more of my work please
visit me at www.zuziucha.blogspot.com I would love that ♥
