Be Happy Darling

Just a quick layout today for some fun. To alleviate all the horrible stress going on right now. I finally got my January Swirlydoos Kit and it had these gorgeous Prima papers in it from Royal Menagerie! Had to dive in. So i went back to the beginning of my Kisses for Keaton project which is winding down and scrapped a very young healthy Kiki precancer.
I really want these albums to reflect Kiki's entire journey from health to cancer and back to health. So I am finishing up the beginning part of the album lol. I didn't do it in sequence. It is my hope to also include excerpts from Stephanie Reid's journaling's on Kiki's facebook page to include her thoughts during this difficult time. Wow I hope I get this right!
And just a few close-ups:
Just some masking and misting to accentuate the colors. A little stamping and heat embossing as well. The chipboard came with the kit and it is also from Prima's Royal Menagerie line! As is the stencil I used.
Gorgeous blooms are of course Prima from both Royal Menagerie line and Cigar Box Secrets.
Last close-up on techniques.
had fun doing this page. Now I am going to endeavor to undertake something I have never done before! Art Journaling!! Wish me luck!]All the best! :)

Memories-My Creative Sketch Challenge

Hello! Back again with a short post for my entry for the My Creative Sketches Challenge. From the beginning this project has been fraught with challenges and grief. Everything that could go wrong did and I almost tossed it but at the last minutes decided to just glue it and move forward! So here it is my entry!
I used my gift package from My Creative Sketches that I won in November!! I have to say Pam Rangel is so generous with her prizes!! I loved this kit! It came with the gorgeous Autumn Anthology papers from Blue Fern Studios (the chippie to!) It also had gorgeous Prima flowers and a Lindy's Stamp Gang mist! Thank-you Pam & the team at My Creative Sketches!!!

This is the sketch i followed ( I changed flowers for hearts!) :)

And here are some close-ups:
One thing I love about Blue Fern papers are their graphics!! I love to fussy cut them out and use them as embellishments!
More fussy cutting!
The only thing on my page not from the kit were the Petaloo sugar flowers and the title!! I did a lot of masking and misting on this page using both Shimmerz & Lindy's mists.
Love these Cigar Box flowers!
I outlined each flower with a black watercolor pencil to make it stand out more.
And that's it. I am done!!! lol Seriously this was not one of my better pieces but I couldn't throw it out after all the time and product i used so thanks for bearing with me a following this post thru!!
All the best! :)

Butterfly Kisses

It's time for another sketch challenge over at Blue Fern Studios. Here is my entry.

I took this photo of my youngest daughter with my grandson at my oldest granddaughter's Birthday party. These two have such an amazing bond  you can feel the love from the photo.
This is the lovely sketch I had to work with. I used the Blush line of papers for this layout.
Not going to lie I messed up the title. Once I primered it with gesso I colored it with a mist that was just off in color. To hide the mistake I thought I would heat emboss some darker pink over it. Big mistake!! I ended up scrapping off what I could and applied gesso again. By this time the piece was lumpy :( I ended up using Ranger liquid pearls to cover the whole piece. It doesn't look to bad now but when you photograph it, it sure does shimmer.
One of the many things I love about Blue Fern papers are the graphics on almost every page! I love fussy cutting I find it relaxing! I know weird right? I like to use the fussy cut pieces as embellishments.
Here you can see the gorgeous piece of chipboard also from Blue Fern Studios called Bordeaux Layered Frame.  By the way the papers and frame came in this month's gorgeous Limited Edition Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.
I primed the piece with gesso then misted it with some Shimmerz. After that dried I heat  embossed some Ranger embossing powder on in Enchanted Gold. At the top I added some microbeads in butter for some extra interest.
I did some mixed media work on the page. Some masking, misting, stamping and heat embossing. I also used a stencil and added some more microbeads in blush. It livens things up a bit! Flowers are from Petaloo and Prima.
Another closeup!
You can see some of the heat embossing done here.
And this is the wonderful kit I used. I have to more in the pipe so to speak and will be posting them soon! I hope you enjoyed! In the meantime happy scrapping! All the best! :)
