Precious

This is my very first time entering a Lindy's Color Challenge. I figured now that I am the proud owner of quite the Lindy's Stamp Gang collection I should try my hand at one of their color challenges!
I loved the colors for this month's challenge and go figure I had them all so I scrapped this adorable photo of my granddaughter Isla Skye.
And this is the color challenge for this month.
I used papers from the 7 Dots Studios Homegrown collection. I used Flirty and Attic. I used the Damask Mask from 7 Dots and added molding paste around my photo. I let it dry then went over the masking with some diluted Gesso to help pick up the colors I wanted to spray. I actually used all five colors from the challenge, I loved how they looked together!
I used this adorable Dusty Attic chippie Love Heart Corner to frame the side of my photo. I simply heat embossed it with embossing powder.  The flowers are primarily from Prima.

I tinted some Art Stones in Queen of Heart red and added them inside the chippie for added interest.
I love these little pebbles from Prima called melange! They magnify the small stamped images perfectly!
I tinted many of the flowers with the mists listed in the color challenge. I also used some Finnibar mechanicals on the page.

My title. Again heat embossed. I also added a few Art Stones in the P. Added another pebble and mechanical.
Last close-up of some blooms. I enjoyed all the misting and coloring on this layout. I think I just might try the next challenge! Hope you enjoyed!
All the best! :)

your day

I've recently decided to go back thru all my photos and scrap my favorite ones. Granted many of them are of my grandchildren but then again they are the ones who bring me so much joy in life. This photo is of my oldest grandchild Lilly at her Kindergarten graduation. I love this photo and although it is somewhat blurry I still want to remember this moment.
I used the gorgeous Debutante line from Prima for this page. I love their papers, chippies, flowers all of it. The great thing about these lines is they provided you with everything you need to do a compete layout!
I did a lot of stenciling using a Prima mask and Finnibar's Acrylic paints. I tried to match the purplish hue of the background papers. Sequins from the line added extra interest and bling to the page.
I used a Blue Fern chippie called Jeweled Frame and went over it with various embossing powders and more acrylic paint. I then added a Vintage trinket just above the bow. You can see the adorable chippies that come with this line in the little coat hanger over the flower cluster. I also backed the photo with some cheesecloth and the beautiful Magnolia Trim from Prima.
A close up of my title and one of two flower clusters. I cut up a vine from 49 & Market in the plum color to help fit it onto the page. All other blooms are from Prima.
More close ups pf the gorgeous vine from 49 & Market with some Prima blooms and another chippie. I hope you enjoyed this layout. I hope to be back with many many more as this year I promised myself that I would scrap all my favorite photos of the grandchildren our furry babies and our friends! With four grandchildren and the fifth on the way it's a tall order! But i'll try!  Thanks for visiting!
All the best! :)

you & me More Than Words February Challenge

I had loads of fun with this month's challenge over at More Than Words. The word for the month was together.I immediately thought of this photo of my daughter with my granddaughter taken during a fall photo shoot.
I have always loved unique photos and I really liked the fact that they are walking away from the camera and that little Isla is the focal point really of the photo.
This is the Challenge for the month:
We had to tie in the word together and use an ampersand on our page. I used the stunningly gorgeous papers from 49 & Market called Vintage Artistry. Love, love, love these papers! They are so thick you can just pile on the products and they have such gorgeous images on them! I can see many more layouts done with these papers!
There was a lot of misting with Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and masking going on with this page. Then the layering started! Blue fern chippies, a metal butterfly from Finnibar's mechanicals and blooms also from 49 & Market helped finish the page.
Added some gesso to this bloom to blend it in a bit more. Don't you just love all the gorgeous flowers?! A bit of fussy cutting was also involved, this is a given with these papers!
 A couple more closeups.
Another mechanical cog from Finn! Remember to get your entry in to win one of many fabulous prizes we have this month!! Hope you enjoyed the visit! See you soon. All the best! :)
