Dare to Dream

My daughter Meaghan during a  recent visit home. I used the LE kit from my Creative Scrapbook. it was chocked full of goodies from Prima including their new Romance Novel Line.
This lovely DA frame was also included in the kit as was the wooden ticket. I sprayed the DA frame with Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and then stamped the dried frame with a music note stamp I have.

I used this DA Hinge from my stash and sprayed it the same color as the frame. The flower was made using a sheet of Modeling Film I recieved in last months Mixed Media Kit. I simply stamped the flower cut it out and then heated it with my blowdryer. I was then able to shape the way I wanted.

This is a mix of both handmade and Prima flowers as well as more wooden embellies from the Prima collection. I absolutely love Prima's Allegra Adelle flowers with their dangling charms just gorgeous! The leaves are also made using the modelling flim I mentioned earlier.

More embellishments in the top left corner. Unfortuantely the picture is the wrong way :( Oh well long day. Well that's it for me today. Thanks for coming by and have a great evening!

Wish

This is a photograph of my oldest daughter Ashley when she was only 3 years old. It was one that evokes a great deal of emotion in me. For a 3 year old Ashley had been through so much drama, things a child should never have to suffer through, so much in such a short time. My parents had taken Ashley and her sister to the fair and she had gotten her face painted. Ashley being who she is, was too shy to show off her new painted face. My dad persistent man that he was managed to get this shot that still brings tears to my eyes today.
Bo Bunny's Alora line was the perfect color match for this layout. This is a close up of a mix of both handmade and prima flowers. I stamped the little birdie in the top left corner and added a jewel flourish for a tail. TFL.

Augusta

Augusta is based on the Character Augusta Wyndham from the novel The Summer Before the Storm by Gabriele Wills. One day I walked into our local book store and asked the owner to suggest a good summer read. She recommended The Summer Before the Storm the first in a trilogy of books written about a wealthy Canadian family who have a vacation home in Muskoka. I became enthralled. Recognizing all the places mentioned in the novel brought it closer to home even though the time frame of the story takes place between 1912-1914. Before I had even finished the first book I ran out and bought the second one Elusive Dawn. I recently had the priviledge of meeting the author Gabriele Wills on a Boat Cruise/Book Signing Tour of Lake Muskoka. Some of the guests actually came in costume from the time period of the novel and I had the good fortune of being able to photograph them (with their permission of course!). This photo so reminded me of the matriarch of the family Augusta Wyndham that I had to scrap it and Graphic 45's Ladies Diary was the perfect match! I didn't put my usual overkill of flowers and embellishments on the page as I really wanted the picture to be the focal point. There will definitely be more layouts coming based on the novel, it's characters and my journey through time with them! TFL!
