Cards & My First OFTP!-Bo Bunny DT call

By nature I am a layout girl and never really gave much thought to card making until now. It wasn't until I made these cards that I realized just how much fun I was missing out on. I made this card for a friend of my daughter who is getting married soon. I used the Encahnted line a) because that's what is was designed for and b) I found it challenging to work with black and white and wanted to face this challenge!
The flowers are from my stash but I wanted to add just a splash of color.
I made this card for my BF who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has already undergone a big surgical procedure and has now started chemotherapy. It is moments like this when you stop and contemplate your own life and it makes you grateful for what you have. She is one of the most selfless people I know always doing something for someone! She is also Godmother to my middle daughter Meaghan and was so supportive when Meaghan ended up wheelchair ridden last year. I pray for a speedy recovery with a great outcome for her and ask that you say a small amen for her as well.

And last but not least this is my first (and not only) OFTP!
I just had to use the Alora line and do a birdhouse. It was the very first thing that came to mind when I realized I had to get really crafty! This was a learning experience for me and so I watched tutorials on how best to glue paper to wood and what to use. I painted the house all white first.
I made a template for each side and the roof first and then used the template to cut the paper and used Modge Podge to glue them on. The picket fence is from Dusty Attic and I simply painted it white. I used foam squares to pop up some cut out flowers on the house and used trinkets on either side of the house for decoration.
I added a little window on the back. I used Bo Bunny's dot paper for the roof and cut strips of scalloped borders and overlapped them. I also used co-ordinating paper to cut grass strips to surround the house. I was pleased that my paper didn't bubble up and that everything stayed solidly in place when I moved it around. Even dropped it and it stayed together! Okay well that's it for sure this time. I realized that after the graduation I have to attend tommorow for my one daughter I have to travel to Cambridge for my eldest grandaughters graduation from Kindergarden! and a special shout out to my youngest daughter Jessie
who is expecting her first child my fourth grandchild!
Have an awesome weekend! Be well!

Garden Girl-Bo Bunny DT call

This is one of the layouts I did for my submission to Bo Bunny for their design team call. It is my dream to make Bo Bunny's DT and yet I know that I am up against many many talented individuals. I can only pray. . . This is my grandaughter Emily goofing around in the garden. She was threatening to eat my Bleeding Hearts with her tiger. She's such a ham and a great lil gardner! Bo Bunn's Garden Girl paper was perfect for this pic!
I really liked this flower so I fussy cut it out and placed it along the side of the page half on half off so that I could tuck some stamped leaves underneath it. I used a Bo Bunny stamp ( Trail Mix) and stamped a bunch of leaves and colored them in with my Tim Holtz markers. I randomnly placed them on the page for extra color. I love the Bo Bunny flower lines their just gorgeous!

A little masking in purple and some bling along the butterfly to add just a little sparkle.
Last close-up. I love the vivid colors of this line!

A Star is Born

My grilfriend's daughter Sydney during a photoshoot. She so reminded me of Shirley Temple I thought  this pic was so adorable and yet she is so shy! I used Bo Bunny's Little Miss line love these papers.
The frame is from Harmonie a Canadian scrapbooking company that specializes mostly in stamps but has some chipboard. I painted it white then thinking I wanted it to stand out more I heat embossed it with some Metallic Brown Zing embossing powder. It's really hard to see the finish but I wanted it to look more vintage, what I hadn't taken into consideration was the huge mess. Oh well live and learn and experimenting is what it's all about! The title was plain Thickers chipboard which I painted brown then added sparkles and then gloss to help it harden and get the shine I wanted.

I used a flower tutorial from Lisa Gregory's blog ( http://www.what-a-beautiful-mess.blogspot.ca/2010/10/swirly-sweetheart-daisy.html) to make the two daisys. I try to make at least a couple of flowers out of the paper that goes with the line for my layouts as well as some from Prima or Petaloo to mix it up. There are a few metal embellishment pieces in there as well the heart, the trinket from Bo Bunny and the little flower from Petaloo which I added Pink liquid pearls to in order to make it stand out more.

Well it's been a long day out in the sun trying to get my gardens under control. I'm scorched and pooped. This is my pond one of six garden beds I have.

I'll never be done! A work in progress. Be Well!
